In order to increase the campaign and create more awareness of First Aid in the society,which is a basic knowledge and effort needed to save lives of individuals who suffered emergency health challenge, resulting from accident, sudden collapse and cardiac arrest,the department of Human Kinetics and Health Education of Delta State College of Education Mosogar in affiliation with Delta State University Abraka,organised a One-Day-Workshop to sensitized and create First Aid Awareness" in Nigeria at the Indoor Sport Hall, Campus 2, Mosogar Town on Tuesday 14th May,2024.
The workshop which is designed basically for 200level students of Human Kinetics and Health Education of the department as a prerequisite to pass HED 203 "First Aid and Emergency Care" in the institution,was highly interactive, educative and informative with basic knowledge of what to do to save life.
There were series of practical demonstrations on administration of First Aid by First Responder, Recovery Position of victims and CardioPulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
The Chief Facilitator of the Workshop,Chief Collins Ezewu JP,other assistant facilitators including; Alhaji Momodu Imorikhe and Mr. Avwerute Agbamukoro theoretically and practically educated the students and attendees about the do's and don't's in regards to first aid administration, to ensure that the purpose of trying to save a life is not defeated.
The Workshop was organized by Dr. (Mrs) Blessing Emoghene who is also the Course Lecturer.
Present during the workshop are; Dr. Nathaniel Ethel (Deputy Provost),Mr. Simon A. Fole (College A.G Registrar),Mr. Shedrack Ahaibie (College P.R.O),Mr. Charles Itedjere,Mr. Blessing Onoriode,Mrs. Ufuoma Arenyika,Mrs. Patience Edore and other staff of the Department.
