LG Poll: Ethiope West Leaders Celebrate Gov. Oborevwori's Achievements(Photos)

The leaders and people of Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State have assured the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and the State PDP Chairman, Chief Barr. Kingsley Esiso, that the July 13, 2024, Local Government Elections in the local government will be a walkover for the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidates. They emphasized that the PDP is assured of a landslide victory in the forthcoming LG elections due to Gov. Oborevwori's exemplary leadership, which has entrenched peace and good governance in Delta State. 

Speaking at the Delta State PDP Local Government Campaign Rally for Ethiope West at the Oghara Township Stadium, which witnessed a huge crowd, former House of Representatives Member, Hon. Ben Rollands Igbakpa; Chairman of the Delta State Oil-Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun John Nani; Director General of Direct Labour Agency (DLA), Chief Engr. Emmanuel Ighomena; and Chief Sen. Ighoyota Amori in their respective speeches assured the Governor and the Party Leadership to relax after the campaign as they promised to deliver 100 percent victory for PDP. They applauded the Governor for sustaining the peace in the state, reassuring him that the party stakeholders are united and solidly behind him. 

They hailed the emergence of Hon. Chris Onogba as the PDP Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Austine Atomre as the Vice Chairmanship candidate, and the 20 Councillorship candidates in Ethiope West LGA, stressing that their candidatures were a popular choice and have brought unprecedented unity to the party in the Local Government like never before. 

They pointed out that the July 13th Local Government elections in Delta State will be a walkover, describing it as a test case for the 2027 general elections in the state. 

Other speakers, such as the State Commissioner of the Bureau for Special Duties, Hon. Ejiro Etacherure; LGA PDP Chairman, Chief Solomon Obareki; and Ogharefe Community Youth Chairman, Comr. Monday Omomedia, equally lauded the governor for his administration’s achievements in the state and reassured him of the unflinching support and loyalty of the people of Ethiope West Local Government Area. 

Welcoming the State PDP Chairman, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, and the State campaign train, the Coordinator of the Campaign Council, Chief Henry Eghwubare, onbehalf of the people of the Local Government area, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for the numerous developmental projects his administration has executed in the state, as well as his human capital empowerment initiatives which has significantly improved livelihoods of many people in the state. 

He assured the party leadership of the unalloyed support and solidarity of the PDP Stakeholders in the Local Government at all times, stating, "We are happy with the good works of our Governor and our distinguished State Party Chairman. You are our leaders, and we are solidly behind you; and I must reiterate that His Excellency’s achievements have given us the confidence to prepare for the swearing-in ceremony of all our candidates." 

Presenting the PDP flags to the Chairmanship candidate and his running mate, the State Chairman of the party, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, expressed delight at the developmental strides of Gov. Oborevwori’s administration in the state, adding that the governor has kept faith with his campaign promises to the people of Delta State. 

He urged the people of Ethiope West LGA to come out en masse on July 13th to vote massively for the chairmanship and councillorship candidates of the PDP. 

He thanked the people for accepting to vote for the PDP and extracted commitment from the chairmanship candidate, his running mate, and councillors that they will serve their people with the fear of God, if elected on July 13, 2024. 

In his acceptance speech, the PDP Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Chris Onogba, flanked by his running mate, Hon. Austine Atomre, expressed deep gratitude to the Almighty God for using the construction Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the PDP Leadership in the state, and particularly the PDP leaders in Ethiope West LGA to grant him and the other candidates the rare privilege to fly the flag of the party in the forthcoming Council Election and for the firmness and unity that they have displayed toward this campaign. He expressed confidence that the existing unity in the party will continue for more sustained benefit for the people of the Local Government. He expressed his commitment to domesticate the Gov. Oborevwori MORE Agenda in Ethiope West with a focus on Inclusiveness, Security, and Development across the three Kingdoms and the 20 wards. While thanking the people for their solidarity and support so far, he urged them to come out in large numbers to affirm this support at their various polling units on July 13th. 

The well-attended rally had in attendance the State PDP Deputy Chairman, Barr. Val Arenyeka; State PDP Vice Chairman(Delta Central), Chief Patrick Fovie; State PDP Secretary, Engr. Dan Ossai; PDP Delta Central Woman Leader, Chief Mrs. Dora Sakpaide; State Assistant Publicity Secretary, Chief Mrs. Happy Otojareri; Immediate Past Ethiope West Council Chairman, Hon. Nelson Owoso; Pastor Godwin Akpovie; Chief Young Afighi; Chief Philo Ededey; Chief Duncan Eghweree; Chief Anthony Akpomiemie; Chief Dr. Austin Atiti; Dr. Benson Omonode; delegations of Council of Chiefs from Oghara, Idjerhe, and Mosogar Kingdoms; PDP LGA Woman Leader Mrs. Patience Akpeninor and the colourful PDP Women group; the Artisans Union; Non-Indigenes Forum; Leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN); and various Support groups. 

Other attendees included the Deputy Coordinator of the Campaign, Hon. Evidence Igere; Secretary Chief Anthony Agboma; Head of Media/Publicity Comr. Sagboje Odiri Milton; Head of Youth Mobilization Comr. Ochuko Jagbade, Comr. Gabriel Wisdom, amongst other leaders and party faithfuls.
