Ahead of the July 13 Local Government elections in the State, PDP Chairmanship candidate of Ethiope West Local Government Area, Chief Christian Onogba, has pledged his commitment to complement the rural developmental initiatives of the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, in Ethiope West LGA on Friday 28th June,2024.
Chief Onogba made this remarks when the Ethiope West PDP campaign train berthed at State Ward 17, 18, 19, and 20 held in Oghareki- Oghara, emphasized his dedication to fostering growth and improving the quality of lives in rural communities within his purview.
Chief Onogba while addressing a large turnout of party members and supporters, lauded Governor Oborevwori’s vision and efforts in driving rural development through massive infrastructural development across the state and his human capital development policies and programs, which has significantly improved the quality of lives at the grassroots; assuring the electorate that, if elected, his administration would work closely with the state government to ensure the implementation of all people oriented projects and programs. "Our rural communities are the backbone of our economy and our culture." He stated. "By working hand in hand with our leader, His Excellency, the Governor, we can bring unprecedented and even development to Ethiope West Local Government Council, ensuring that every resident benefit from improved infrastructure, rural healthcare, and educational facilities."
Earlier, the Coordinator of the Campaign council, Chief Henry Eghwubare, stated that he knows the PDP has no opposition in Oghareki because the turnout at the rally shows that the party candidates should go home and prepare for their swearing-in. He thanked the people for their unity and urged them to demonstrate same on election day.
The LGA PDP Chairman, Chief Solomon Obareki, while presenting the party flags to Hon. Ben Odje, Comr. Edokpolo Fidelson, Mrs. Christaina Agamugoro and Engr. Anthony Ughwuriyigho, Councillorship candidates for Wards 17, 18, 19, and 20 respectively, urged the people to remain committed to the PDP as it is the only party that can bring the dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from party leaders and faithful from the respective wards, who expressed confidence in all the PDP candidates' ability to deliver on their promises. They noted that Chief Onogba's promise to prioritize rural development aligns with the broader agenda of the PDP, which aim to uplift all segments of society and foster inclusive growth.
Those on the PDP campaign train include: Chief Ighoyota Amori, Chief Engr. Emmanuel Ighomena, Hon. Ben Rollands Igbakpa, Chairmanship candidate, Chief Christian Onogba, his running mate, Hon. Austine Atomre, LGA Party Chairman, Chief Solomon Obareki JP, Hon. Commissioner Etacherure Ejiro Terry, Pastor Godwin Samson Akpovie, Chief Augustine Atiti.
Others are the Campaign Coordinator, Chief Henry Eghwubare, his Deputy, Hon. Evidence Igere, Secretary, Chief Anthony Agboma, Okakuro Ewhere Duncan Oghenochuko, Mrs. Patience Akpeninor, Comr. Frank Adje, Hon. Richard Ofenor, Head of Media/Publicity Comr. Sagboje Odiri Milton, Chief Eselante, Mr. Charity Agbiga, amongst others.
