FATHIA WILLIAMS THE PERSPICACIOUS WOMAN DRIVING THE MOVIE INDUSTRY IN URHOBO NATION!

Fathia Williams formerly known as Fathia Balogun was born on February 5,1969 in Ikeja to Williams family of Okpara-waterside in Agbon Kingdom one of the Urhobo kingdoms in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

She attended Maryland primary school and Maryland Comprehensive High School in Lagos-State,where she obtained the West Africa School Certificate.She later proceeded to Kwara State Polytechnic and acquired a Diploma certificate in law.

Growing up as a young girl,she never dream to become actress,but wish to become a "Broadcaster",and her dad wants her to be an accountant.She works briefly as a general receptionist at chips Bit & Bit,a computer company on Toyin Street Ikeja,Lagos State  and she was earning #5000 per month back then.

Interestingly,she found herself in the movie industry jokely,through the helped of Late Alhaji Fatai Teniola of blessed memory.He brought her into the industry by casting her in a movie in the early 90s.She featured in "Talo Pa Chief ",which was her first movie and later acted in "Secretary"in the 90s.

After her graduation from the Polytechnic,she thought she could make a better life out of acting,this spurred her in working so hard in becoming one of the best actress in Nigeria.She travelled briefly to U.K,after returning from U.K,she was featured in "Abule Sowo" a film produced by Yinka Quadri,this film brought her to the limelight.

Fathia Williams though mainly featured in Yoruba movies,she has appeared in a lot of films,since she began acting including Farayola,Aje Metta 1&2,Awawu,Teni Teka,Omo Ale,Agbelebu Mi,Basire Badia,Adakeja,Eku Eda,My Woman e.t.c.She is loved by alot of Nigerians who enjoy watching Yoruba movies, admire her good looks and acting skills.She has also directed and produced various movies in the industry.

She has won several awards both at the international and national scene over the years, including Africa Movie Academy Awards for the most Outstanding Actress Indigenous and her movie "Iranse Aje"Won the best Indigenous film of the year 2008,Best Actress of the year alongside Odunlade Adekola as best Actor 2014 Africa Movie Academy Awards,Best Indigenous Language Yoruba Award for the work done in the film "Iya Alabake " at the 2015 Africa -Magic viewers Choice Awards AMVCA,NEA lead Actress Award held in New York 2016,city People Recognition Award and one of the 100 most influential Deltans Awards all in 2016 e.t.c

She got separated with her ex-hubby a veteran actor, director and producer Saidi Balogun and they are blessed with 2 lovely kids.Although,she featured her ex-husband in her new movie early this year after 13years and they were on set together.Despite their differences,they have buried the hatchet and moved on as colleagues.

Finally,with the Urhobo DNA she carried,she is truely the perspicacious woman driving the moving industry in Urhobo nation.She has done us proud as a daughter of the great Urhobo nation and we are proud of her Achievements in the industry.
