As part of early strategic efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Chief Adviser to the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ighoyota Amori, on Wednesday hosted a high-level meeting with key political leaders from Delta Central at his office in Asaba.
In attendance were the Chairman of Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, who also serves as Chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, and the Chairman of Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency and CEO of Obakpor Construction Company, Olorogun John Oguma.
The meeting, held behind closed doors, focused on strengthening grassroots mobilization and fostering unity across the three federal constituencies in the Delta Central Senatorial District in support of the current administration of Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Senator Amori, who also serves as the Chairman of Ethiope Federal Constituency, said the gathering was crucial to consolidating political support for the current administration of Governor Oborevwori and the Delta Central Senatorial District.
“This is a strategic session involving the key chairmen of the three federal constituencies in Delta Central. We discussed how best to mobilize support for His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, as we look ahead to the 2027 elections,” Senator Amori stated.
According to the Chief Adviser, the meeting focused on identifying effective strategies for engagement, coordination, and unity among stakeholders within the Delta Central zone.
“We deliberated on the way forward, how to move Delta Central as a united bloc. It’s about mobilization, development, and ensuring our people are carried along in the political direction of this administration,” he added.
The meeting is seen as a significant move in the build-up to the 2027 elections and highlights the strategic role Delta Central is expected to play in the political future of the state.
