Scorecard: Oborevwori empowered, supported 250,000 entrepreneurs, MSMEs in 2024 ~ Oghenesivbe

...Says more capital projects, Youth empowerment in 2025

Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori is visibly and steadily fulfilling his 2023 electioneering campaigns promises in all sectors of the state economy, with focus on economic growth and infrastructural development.

The governor through D-CARES programme, Ministry of Women Affairs and State Bureau for Wealth and Job Creation had consciously and deliberately invested billions of Naira to support over 250,000 entrepreneurs who are operating Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs, in the state, but were battling with harsh economic realities due to national economic reforms.

Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Director General, Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, made the disclosure on Tuesday in Lagos, during a radio public affairs network program, saying that the governor's intention saved thousands of small businesses from collapsing.

He posited that the governor also assisted security agencies in the area of logistics and other support, wherein he procured, equipped and distributed over 40 brand new Toyota Hilux operational vehicles to enhance "Response and Rescue" operations throughout the three senatorial districts, thereby upscaling effective policing and crime prevention.

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Egbetokun commissioned the vehicles in Asaba, before delivery to all security agencies. He also  presented a special Award to governor Oborevwori in recognition of his multifaceted assistance to the State Police Command, and other security agencies in the state.

The Bureau Chief assured that with the approved budget of N979billion for year 2025, the governor would expand the scope of mega infrastructure, youth and women empowerment, as well as ensure significant improvement in the funding of educational and sports infrastructure development, among others.

Dr Oghenesivbe further disclosed that improved Urban Renewal, Rural and Riverine mega roads and other infrastructure projects that would open up intra and inter-trade opportunities are contained in the 2025 budget, adding that the budgetary provisions also addressed the upscaling of sociocultural activities, showbusiness/entertainment and tourism potentials in various communities across the state.

The State Communications Bureau Director General, further stated that ongoing construction of three flyovers, pedestrian bridges at DSC roundabout, PTI junction, Enerhen junction up to Marine Gate, and the dualization of Ughelli-Asaba highway and several other ongoing projects across the state; are among some of the remarkable achievements of governor Sheriff Oborevwori since assumption of office in 2023.

Dr Oghenesivbe noted that in less than two years of Oborevwori administration, Delta State is fast becoming a mega state, investors first choice destination where citizens and residents, as well as visitors shall continue to enjoy good measure of returns on investments,  peace, security and quality social services.

He said governor Oborevwori ensured that under the Realistic Reforms component in his MORE agenda, local and foreign investors  enjoys good measure of tax rebate/holidays, ease of doing business without unnecessary bureaucratic bottlenecks, voluntary repatriation of profits on investments, so as to fast track economic growth, Direct Foreign Investment, FDI, while urging investors to take advantage of these attractive incentives.

Oghenesivbe revealed that the governor made special provision of over N2 billion for special projects in each of the 25 local government areas of the state, to fasttrack socioeconomic and infrastructural development in communities, towns and villages, adding that governor Oborevwori is the first governor to have made such budgetary provisions for local governments since the creation of the state.

"Our indefatigable governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has performed creditably in less than two years in office. He's going to do More, and remain focused to deliver quality dividends of democracy to our people in Delta State.

"His economic reforms are yeilding tremendous results. There are no bureaucratic bottlenecks for investors in Delta State. The ease of doing business is high and shall be sustained.

"The governor and his economic team introduced tax rebates and other attractive incentives to boost economic growth through Direct Foreign Investment, Public-Private Partnerships and other multifaceted strategies.

"There are mega projects ongoing in Delta State. Three flyovers and pedestrian bridges are being constructed. Construction giant, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc is handling the projects. There are other projects that have been completed and commissioned by this administration, soanynod them, and counting.

"The dualization of Ughelli-Asaba highway and several other ongoing projects across the three senatorial districts are some of the legacies of Oborevwori administration, and we deeply appreciate the governor for driving uncommon economic growth, prosperity and infrastructural development in the state.

"With the approved N979 billion budget for year 2025, the governor is poised to sustain youth and women empowerment, upscale mega infrastructure and socioeconomic development, approve additional financial support to boost small scale businesses that yould drive economic growth and prosperity for our people.

"Delta has never had it this good in terms of prudent, transparent and meticulous management of state resources, wherein governor Oborevwori saved over 200billion in operating cost on projects. Contractors and suppliers are paid as at when due, more debt and peomototion arrears accommodation under this administration.

"Since he took over the mantle of leadership as governor of Delta State, over N160billion has been paid, out of the inherited state debt of over N400bilion. And in all of these, the governor did not borrow a penny from any bank or financial institution, home or abroad, and does not intend to do so in 2025.

"Permit me to say that Delta is blessed with a God-fearing, and a visionary governor, who is determined to prudently use the state resources to upscale development, create jobs and wealth for our people without mortgaging our collective future via debts and misappropriation of public funds.

"He's the first governor since the creation of Delta State to allocate over N2 billion to each of the 25 local government areas, for infrastructure and socioeconomic development, as can be seen in the 2025 approved state budget.

"Governor Oborevwori is a pragmatic leader, and Manager of resources par excellence, and we give God all the Glory," Oghenesivbe added.

Deltans won't succumb to Senator Agege's falsehood, lies against Oborevwori ~ Bureau Chief

... Says former DSP can't emerge governorship candidate in 2027

Former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege have been told that he will not emerge as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, come 2027.

Director General, Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, made the prediction during a public affairs radio program monitored in Asaba on Saturday, saying that the powers that be at the centre had since commenced the grooming of someone else to fly the APC governorship flag in the forthcoming election.

He posited that the good people of Delta State are happy and impressed by the level of unprecedented ongoing infrastructural development across the three senatorial districts, assuring that Deltans will never succumb to Senator Agege's falsehood and lies against governor Oborevwori.

He noted that the problem with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege is that he lacks result oriented political strategies required at this time to compete favourably in the boxing ring of politics, adding  that the laughable, unwarranted and uncivilized attacks on the performing governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, cannot and will never yield any positive result for his (Agege) 2027 blurred governorship ambition.

Dr Oghenesivbe asserted that Senator Agege goofed over the weekend when he was quoted by a section of the media as saying that governor Oborevwori should be held to account for funds received from Federal Allocations, noting that Agege mischievously and deliberately trivialized all ongoing mega projects in the state, including the three flyovers in Delta Central Senatorial District where he once represented the people as a federal lawmaker, but could not influence the rehabilitation or construction of any major road project for the senatorial district.

The State Communication Bureau Director General, reminded Senator Agege that governor Oborevwori, was recently adjudged the most prudent manager of State resources by new media practitioners in Nigeria, and in the same token won $400,000 Bill and Milinda Gates funds as the overall best state in public health management, in recognition of the state government huge investments in the sector, especially the upgrade of health facilities, and provision of quality drugs for state hospitals and primary healthcare centers across the state.

He disclosed that governor Oborevwori saved over N250 billion from operating cost in less than two years as a prudent manager of State resources, and paid over N160 billion out of inherited state debt profile of over N400 billion, currently executing solid and durable road infrastructure projects across Delta State, including the rapid dualization of Ughelli-Asaba highway, several ongoing roads construction and rehabilitation, rapid construction of Beneku mega bridge, and other projects across all sectors, and counting.

Dr Oghenesivbe further stated that Senator Agege saw nothing good in all  completed and ongoing projects across the state. He decided to sarcastically quote financial figures, failed to review the governor's unprecedented level of infrastructural and socioeconomic development since he assumed office less than two years, adding that the good people of Delta State cannot and will never be cajoled by Senator Agege's falsehood, lies, deceptive tendencies and politics of bitterness.

"On a regular basis, the Oborevwori administration has been empowering thousands of Deltans, youth and women, and also providing funds to boost existing Small and Media Scale Enterprises, SMEs in the state through D-CARES programme and the State Bureau for Wealth and Job Creation, running into billions of Naira.

"Senator Agege decided to look the other way, failed to appreciate governor Oborevwori for his visionary leadership and enviable performance. This is not how to play opposition politics.

"Senator Agege is busy enjoying himself in Abuja and around the world. He had since lost touch with the unprecedented development going on in Delta State, which is why he's blinded to the good governance strides of governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

"Am telling you for free that Senator Agege has been left behind in Delta APC mainstream politics. He will obviously bite his fingers in 2027. Another fellow is being groomed to fly their party governorship ticket.

"The former DSP is loosing it because of his political immaturity, penchant for lies, deception, greed, fractured personality, and battered political image. He won't fly Delta APC governorship flag in 2027.

"One of his laughable political antics is to unnecessary and falsely accuse the performing governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori. That in itself is one of the reasons his popularity is fast diminishing as more Deltans continue to disassociate themselves from Agege, as well as in the APC factionalized political families.

"Governor Oborevwori has been adjudged as the most prudent manager of State resources by new media practitioners in Nigeria, he saved over N250 billion from operating cost, paid over N160 billion out of inherited state debt of over N400 billion, executingegs infrastructural projects across Delta State, including the rapid dualization of Ughelli-Asaba highway, several ongoing roads construction and rehabilitation, rapid construction of Beneku mega bridge, and other projects cutting across all sectors of the state economy, and counting.

"On a regular basis, the Oborevwori administration is empowering thousands of Deltans, youth and women, and also providing funds to boost existing Small and Media Scale Enterprises, SMEs in the state, running into billions of Naira.

"Governor Oborevwori is focused on the consistent delivery of dividends of democracy to all Deltans, irrespective of political or religious affiliation, and across the three senatorial districts. He will continue to do so as encapsulated in his MORE agenda.

"We have so many good stories to tell in Delta under the pragmatic and visionary leadership of governor Oborevwori. Deltans know what Agege is up to, but 2027 governorship is not for him. Somebody is already positioned with a running mate from Delta North Senatorial District.

"Governor Oborevwori is not ready for 2027 electioneering politics at this time. He's working round the clock to Advance Delta through the instrumentality of the MORE Agenda under full scale implementation.

"At the appropriate time, governor Oborevwori and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will take the centre stage to exhibit her political supremacy, and to dislodge the APC effortlessly, because the governor's solid achievements will resonate at the polls in 2027," Oghenesivbe assured.

PDP LEADERS HOLDS STRATEGIC MEETING IN ETHIOPE WEST.

........ Reaffirms Support for Gov. Oborevwori.

By Ovie Bethel

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ethiope West LGA,Delta State held a strategic meeting at the residence of Sen(Chief) Dr. Ighoyota Amori JP on Friday 13th December,2024.

The strategic meeting refocused and reposition the party for better service delivery that will build on the already established gains of democracy and governance for socioeconomic development and well-being of the people in the local government.

The leaders used the occasion to call on every party faithful to be focus as individual's contributions in support and solidarity towards the success of the party even in the face of provocativeness,is highly appreciated and will be rewarded in no distance time as the government of Gov. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori prioritized service delivery in terms of provision of basic amenities and infrastructures that will eradicate poverty and improve the living standard of the people in the state.

The party leaders further reaffirmed and pledged their unalloyed support for His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori whose MORE agenda is working and impacting positively on daily basis to better the lives of Deltans in the state.

The party condemned and shunned every uncivilized and provocative political practice that is alien to the culture of the people and capable in breaching the peace being enjoy in the local government as no political aspiration worth the blood of anyone in the council mostly as we are connected either by blood, marriage or otherwise.

Below are some of the Communique Issued at the end of the meeting:

1) The leadership of PDP Ethiope West Chapter acknowledged that political parties have two doors( entry & exit), hence any member of a political party is free at anytime to choose his or her door.

2) Before the general election in 2023, particularly after the primaries, Ethiope West PDP knew exactly who their members are and who went to war with us. Few days ago, we saw some of our members before the 2023 elections officially changing camp in the name of decamping. Borrowing a leaf from the Israelites as recorded in Numbers Chapter 31: 49 "And they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war which are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us." The Ethiope West PDP leadership quickly counted those of our political soldiers that went to war with us in 2023 general elections and found out that "NOT A SINGLE ONE WAS MISSING AFTER THE COUNT". PDP family as at 2023 general elections remains intact and we have lost no one.

It is pertinent to stress the fact that, those who hitherto pretended as PDP members in the day but are actually APC at night have unwittingly exposed themselves. What a shame!

With the exit of the pretenders, the leadership of Ethiope West hereby call on PDP members to remain calm, steadfast and re-dedicate themselves as we prepare to re-enact our winning strategies to deliver all our candidates in 2027 INEC Elections.

Finally, the repainted building remains the bona-fide property of the PDP, which owns it 100% and will remain so as all the APC action so far is an exercise in futility. We therefore appeal to all PDP faithfuls in the local government to remain calm and be peaceful but this will be the last time such provocation will be tolerated in the local government as any individual or group who sow the wind in the name of politics will surely reap the whirlwind.

Present during the meeting are ; Sen (Chief) Dr. Ighoyota Amori (Chairman, Ethiope West Leaders Forum),Chief (Engr) Emmanuel Ighomena (Deputy Leader),Chief (Hon) Barr. Anthony O. Akpomiemie (Chairman PDP,Delta Central),Hon(Chief) Pastor Chris Onogba (Executive Chairman, Ethiope West),Hon. Vincent Abobo (Chairman PDP, Ethiope West),

Ejiro Etacherure (Commissioner, Bureau for Special Duties),Chief Philo Ededey, Chief Dr. Augustine Atiti,Barr. Dave Emakunu,Chief Mrs. Happy Otojareri,Hon. Benjamin Oboh,Hon(Chief) Obukohwo Ugbune,Hon(Pastor) Nelson Owoso (Immediate Past Chairman, Ethiope West) and others.

PDP WILL NEVER ALLOWED ANY PROPERTIES TO BE CEDED TO ANOTHER PARTY BY DECAMPEE ~ DELTA CENTRAL CHAIRMAN, AKPOMIEMIE.

By Ovibel Media.

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta Central Senatorial District,Chief(Hon) Barr. Anthony O. Akpomiemie has affirmed that the party will never allowed any of her properties including the Secretariat in Oghara , Ethiope West LGA,to be ceded to another party by decampee.

His reaction was contained in a statement released to condemned the provocative move of some decampees in Ethiope West ,who forcefully gained entrance into the party Secretariat to defaced and repainted the secretariat known to be PDP building in the local government to APC Secretariat.

The statement reads;

We wish to draw the attention of the general public to the unfolding and disgraceful acts of the All Progressive Party(APC) in Oghara, wherein the PDP Secretariat was invaded, repainted with their colors,  and the  building fenced with blockwall today 12th December 2024. This ugly incident took place in broad daylight in the presence of some armed security men.

As civilized and well cultured PDP members, we resisted the temptation to confront them headlong because of the likely casualties that would have occurred.

It is pertinent to state that the land on which the PDP Secretariat was erected is a gift by the Delta State Ministry of Sports many years ago. Funding of the Secretariat building was through levies and donations by PDP members in Ethiope West. The Secretariat has been in existence before the emergence of APC as a party in late 2014.

To honour our former PDP Governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, who incidentally hails from Ethiope West LGA, the party decided to name the building after him. It should be noted that the naming did not coffer ownership of the building on him. We are therefore at a loss, why the daughter of the former Governor could throw caution to the wind and forcefully take over the building as an APC Secretariat. We respect the rights of individuals to join or exit a political party but take exception to a decampee exiting a party for another with the property of his/her former party. As a legislator in the lower chamber of the National Assembly representing Ethiope East/ Ethiope West Federal constituency, the society expects an exemplary behaviour that befits her status. To descend from an Olympiad height  and employ brute force with thugs to take over PDP Secretariat is rather unfortunate.

The People Democratic Party members will not allow any of their properties including the Secretariat to be ceded by a decampee to another party.

We hereby call on all PDP members to be law abiding and remain calm as efforts are being made to legitimately reclaim our Secretariat.

Signed:

Chief(Hon) Barr. Anthony O. Akpomiemie

"Participants need to know what it takes to sell the MORE Agenda through effective and result oriented public communication and social media engagements. This is very important.

"If you go to the media space, a lot of things are going on there,.both negative and positive engagements. This workshop would handle these issues occuring daily in the media space, with emphasis on positive engagements.
