AMORI TAKES NEW NATIONAL ASSIGNMENT, SWORN-IN AS MEMBER, BOARD OF GOVERNORS, PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTE

The National Chairman, DC-23 and Senior Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State,Sen(Chief) Dr. Ighoyota Amori has been sworn-in as Member,Board of Governors of Peoples Democratic Institute,an institute of the Peoples Democratic Party with a mandate to provide training and knowledge needed to advance democracy not just in Nigeria but across Africa.

Chief Amori was inaugurated among other Members of the Board to take new national assignment at the party National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza,Abuja on Thursday 7th November,2024.

Speaking with Ovibel Tv shortly after the inauguration,Chief Amori appreciated His Excellency Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori (Executive Governor of Delta State) for nominating and given him the privilege to serve the party and Nigeria in this new capacity.

He further assured of his input towards the development of PDI, working with other Members of the Board to ensure success and victory for the party.

In his welcome address,Hon. Umar Bature (National Organizing Secretary) who represented the Acting National Chairman of the party,extend his sincere appreciation to leaders and members of the party for the initiative to reposition the party through the knowledge based institute.

H.E. Oluseyi Makinde (Executive Governor of Oyo State) who was special Guest of Honour,also appreciated the party for providing him the platform to serve his people since 2019 till date with his second tenure currently running.He further call for more unity in the party,while adding that he will never be a tool to destroy the party.He noted that PDI will be the calculated difference between the PDP and APC in Nigeria.

Former Senate President,Sen. Bukola Saraki and Sen. Abba Moro (Senate Minority Leader) were among leaders of the party who spoke during the ceremony.

Highlight of the ceremony is the unveiling of PDI Road Map and inauguration of the Board of Members.

Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (Member),Her Excellency, Josephine Piyo-Deputy Governor, Plateau State (Member),Her Excellency Prof. Kaletapwa G. Farauta -Deputy Governor,Adamawa State) Member,Her Excellency,Lolo Cecilia Ezeilo , Deputy Governor,Enugu State(Member),Sen(Chief) Ndi Obi (Member),Sen. Kamorudeen Olalere Oyewumi - Deputy Minority Leader of the 10th Senate (Member),Dr. Usman Abdur'rahman (Member),Dr. Glory Emmanuel Edet (Member),Dr. Gabriel Adetokunbo Pearse (Member),Rt. Hon. Josiah Sabo Kente (Member),Rt. Hon. David Emmanuel Ombugadu (Member), Controller of Customs Abdulrasheed Ibrahim (Rtd) Member and Dr. Edward Ugbada Adie (Secretary).
