The Executive Chairman of Ethiope West L.G.A,Hon. Chris Onogba has charged Nigerians to keep believing and pray for the nation.
In a statement to celebrate the 64th Independence through his press secretary,Comr. Ighoyota Akowheri expressed hope that a better Nigeria is achievable.
"It is with great joy that I bring you greetings from the respected and proactive Chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Council, Hon. Chris Onogba, on Nigeria's 64th Independence Day celebration.
Without a doubt, we are all aware of the terrible economic situation in the country right now. Nigerians are suffering from an uncontrolled high rate of inflation due to the current hike in fuel prices. Many persons are almost going into depression.
Hon. Chris Onogba is aware of the current situation and, on this day, sends a message of hope to the good people of Nigeria. According to the people-friendly Executive Chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Council, a better Nigeria is achievable. He appealed to all Nigerians, especially the good people of Ethiope West Local Government Area, not to stop believing in Nigeria.
Yes, I am aware of the current economic hardship in Nigeria, and I stand with all Nigerians, especially the good people of Ethiope West Local Government Area, in this. I will do my best for my people to live a better life. I hold the office of the Executive Chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Council in trust for the people, and only until I see smiles on the faces of my people will I smile
Amidst this difficult economic situation, I charge you all, especially the good people of Ethiope West Local Government Council, to keep believing in a better Nigeria. Never give up on Nigeria, because with God, all things are possible. Nigeria is our home; we have no other home. Therefore, in a place of prayer, speak forth a better Nigeria, for it is achievable
The Executive Chairman, in his words, has promised to put smiles on the faces of his people in Ethiope West Local Government Area while admonishing all Nigerians to remain steadfast in their faith for Nigeria. According to the Chairman, everyone has a role to play in this struggle.
Therefore, as we celebrate Nigeria's independence today, let's all bear the interest of Nigeria at heart, because this is our country, and we have no other country. We must make Nigeria a better and safer place, even for generations to come." He concluded.
