DESCOEM REGISTRAR,FOLE DECORATED BY SSUCOEN,SOUTH-SOUTH ZONE.


 

The Registrar of the Delta State College of Education Mosogar,Mr. Simon Fole has been decorated by the leadership of the Senior Staff Union in Colleges of Education Nigeria,South-South zone in his office on Wednesday 30th October,2024.

The zonal Executives was received by the Provost of the College,Dr. Israel Imide alongside other principal officers,Mosogar SSUCOEN chapter,led by Comr. Ovie Origho and other sisters Unions; COEASU led by Comr. Richard Igbunu and NASU led by Comr. John Ughagbe shortly before the official ceremony.

In his brief speech,the Provost of the College welcome the team,while he commended the Comrades for the sacrificed they paid as cost for unionism inline of safeguarding the interest of their members.

Comr. Nwachukwu G.I (Chairman,South South zone, SSUCOEN) who led the delegation, appreciated the Provost,for the warm reception he accorded them and creating a level playing field for the smooth operation of unions in the College.

The Registrar,Mr. Simon Fole is a senior Comrade who has served SSUCOEN as Chairman in Mosogar Chapter and Secretary at the Zonal level was decorated with the Union cloth by Comr. Gesiere Dagbo and a 'Rull Up Photo Stand' was also presented to him.

The ceremony was further spice up with the official unveiling of the newly acquired vehicle by the Mosogar Chapter of SSUCOEN.

Oborevwori upscales funding for SMEs in Delta ~ Egwunyenga


 

...Says gov't BUP targets 2,000 business owners 


Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, is taking bold steps to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through the MORE Biz-up Business Upscale programme meant to support entrepreneurs in the State.

Through the More Biz-Up initiative, the state government aims to provide funds to 2,000 verified business owners, boosting the state's economy, creating more jobs that would strategically position Delta as the nation's number one commercial hub.

Chief Job Creation Officer, Delta State Job and Wealth Creation Bureau, Comrade Ifeanyi Michael Egwunyenga gave the assurance on Wednesday, while speaking as guest of Orientation Panorama on Voice of Delta FM Radio Asaba, saying that the state government will continue to support SMEs to cushion the effects of economic hardship threatening their survival.

He encouraged young entrepreneurs and small business owners to apply online at www.deltastatemorebizup.net, pointing out that the program aims to provide equal opportunity for all Deltans, regardless of political, ethnic, or religious affiliation.

According to Comrade Egwunyenga, by supporting SMEs, Governor Oborevwori recognizes the significant role they play in job creation and economic growth, which is why he's helping SMEs to overcome challenges posed by macro-economic policies and interest rates, assuring that the Job Creation Bureau is committed to creating more jobs and wealth through government financial assistance and technical support to entrepreneurs. 

The State Chief Job Creation Officer  disclosed that eligible entrepreneurs must have Voter’s Card or National Identification Number, NIN, have a business located in Delta State, and duly registered business with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, as well as an active business account with any commercial bank in Nigeria.

He urged small and medium business owners to take advantage of the ongoing online application, so as to benefit from the Programme, adding that the portal which opened on the 28th day of  October will close on 1st November, 2024, emphasizing that applicants must be between age 21 and 45 years.

Egwunyenga assured that the Wealth and Job Creation Bureau will introduce more empowerment programmes in the near future, but that the ongoing More Biz-Up business upscale initiative captured the following business categories; Information & Communication Technologies, Computer and Smart Phone Maintenance, and Building & Construction Services including Aluminium Profiling, POP, Interlocking, Tiling, Welding & Fabrication, Electrical & Solar Installation.

Other categories of small business to benefit from the first phase of the Programme are; Handicrafts - Fashion Design, Leather Works, Furniture/Woodwork, Hair Dressing/Makeover, Event Management, Catering & Confectionery, Industrial Cleaning, Audio-visual Services; Cinematography, Photography and Graphics Design.

"Online application for the MORE Biz-up Business Upscale Programme commenced on 28th October to close on November 1, 2024. 

"The state government is targeting 2,000 entrepreneurs between age 21 and 45 years old. This age bracket is very active. They are our target and other age brackets may be captured in subsequent empowerment programmes.

"His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori is driving the process, and he emphasized the need for transparency that provides equal opportunity for all Deltans, irrespective of political, ethnic or religious affiliation.

"We have put strategies in place to ensure that only those who are currently doing business with performance promise are selected to benefit from the MORE Biz-up Business Upscale initiative of the governor.

"Times are hard and governor Oborevwori clearly understands the harsh economic conditions faced by small business owners. This programme is to ensure that they remain in business, make significant progress, because the state government and people stand to benefit when businesses thrive.

"As a Bureau, we are fully prepared to deliver, serve the good people of Delta State by creating more jobs and wealth through deliberate financial assistance and technical support to visionary entrepreneurs in Delta State," Comrade Egwunyenga assured.

The Peoples Democratic Party in Ethiope West Local Government Area, has passed a vote of confidence in the Governor of Delta State,His Excellency Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori.

Leaders and members of the party in the local government passed the vote of confidence in Gov. Oborevwori during an extraordinary Town Hall meeting held today 29th October,2024 at the party Secretariat,Oghara.

The well attended meeting was organized to further unite and strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Senior Political Adviser to the State Governor,Sen(Chief) Emmanuel Aguariavwodo who attended the meeting on behalf of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori , appreciated the people for their support during the last general elections, while admonishing that everyone should embrace love to further unite and reposition the party.

In his welcome address,the Chairman of the party in Ethiope West,Chief Hon. Vincent Abobo appreciated Gov. Oborevwori for the numerous appointments and unprecedented development going on across the state,which according to him,proved that he is a working, experience and versatile Governor that have the interest of people of Delta State in mind and doing everything possible to work for the uncommon good of the people.

Chief Abobo further assured him of the party's support in ensuring success in the M.O.R.E administration and delivered PDP in Ethiope West come 2027.

Sen(Chief) Dr. Ighoyota Amori,Chief(Barr)Hon. Anthony Akpomiemie, Chief (Engr) Emmanuel Ighomena, Chief(Barr) Hon. G.G. M MOSOGAR BRANCH HOLDS 2024 ANNUAL HARVEST THANKSGIVING(PHOTOS)

God's Grace Ministry Inc. Mosogar Branch held her annual Harvest Thanksgiving on Sunday 27th October,2024 in the Church Auditorium, Mosogar Town, Ethiope West LGA,Delta State.

The Harvest offered members of the Church an opportunity to appreciate God for the preservation of life, provision and guidance over the last one year.

In his brief sermon,Rev. Dennis Emevor who is the vicar-in-charge of G.G.M Mosogar Branch,charged the congregation to be thankful to God Almighty and never hold back giving to God because of the great benefits attached to giving as recorded in the Holy Bible.

The Harvest Thanksgiving witnessed huge success as members and invited guests filled the auditorium offering thanksgiving with their agricultural produced, electrical appliances and money.

The District Superintendent of G.G.M Jesse District,Rev. Mark Ikoro blessed all the items of thanksgiving and showered prayers on the congregation for the bountiful Harvest of gratitude to God Almighty.

The Harvest Thanksgiving was attended by Reverends who were represented by their wives, Catechists, Ethiope West Prayer Meeting Leaders, invited churches and other dignitaries.

May the God of our father,the Bishop of the whole world blessed everyone richly in Jesus name.Amen!

DTSG, Oborevwori urges adults to participate in hypertension, diabetes screening exercise


 

...As State Bureau commences media awareness campaign across Delta State 


Delta State Government has appealed to all adults, 18 years and above to make themselves available for the compulsory hypertension and diabetes screening exercise, scheduled to hold across the state, from 28th October to 3rd November, 2024.

The exercise is in compliance with the Federal Ministry of Health's directive to all States Ministry of Health in Nigeria, under the Project 10 million campaign with the theme: Know Your Numbers, Control Your Numbers, wherein State Health Ministries are expected to screen all adults, 18 years and above to determine their status.

Director General, Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Barrister Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, in a statement on Sunday, said the Bureau had commenced intensive media awareness campaign across the state, through radio jingles, talkshows and other sensitization strategies, encouraging all adults to take advantage of the hypertension and Diabetes screening exercise.

He said the screening exercise is free of charge, and that medical personnel and officials from the Delta State Ministry of Health will be conducting the screening daily at designated centers across the state's three senatorial districts, and 25 local government areas.

He further stated that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori had emphasized the need for all Deltans, regardless of political affiliation, religion, or ethnicity to participate, adding that health is wealth, which is why government will continue to take quality healthcare delivery seriously as encapsulated in the governor's MORE Agenda.

According to Oghenesivbe, it's essential for all adults to participate, as hypertension and diabetes are significant health concerns, saying that studies showed that diabetes affects approximately 422 million adults worldwide.

The Bureau Chief disclosed that the screening exercise shall take place in the following designated screening centres; Delta State Secretariat along Mariam Babaginda Way Asaba, all State Government Hospitals, Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Asaba Specialist Hospital, Government House Clinic, Police Clinic, SSG's Office, Head of Service Office, all Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and other institutions of higher learning across Delta State.

The hypertension and diabetes screening exercise shall also take place in all churches, mosques, market places, prisons, public health centers, and in all Local Government Council Secretariat across the state, Oghenesivbe said.

"All adults, 18 years and above are strongly advised to make themselves available at designated screening centres nearest to them for the hypertension and diabetes screening exercise to determine their status.

"His Excellency the Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, is concerned about the health of all Deltans, irrespective of political affiliations, religion or ethnic nationality, and he directed the State Ministry of Health to ensure that the screening is free of charge, meaning that government will bear the cost.

"Officials and medical personnel from Delta State Ministry of Health under the able leadership of the Honourable Commissioner, Dr Joseph Onojaeme, will be positioned at all designated screening centres to conduct the hypertension and diabetes screening exercise on daily basis, from 28th October to 3rd November, 2024," the statement added.

EFE FAMILY RETRACT CLAIMS OF OWNING MOSOGAR, REUNITE WITH KINGDOM.

Members of Efe Family which is one of the families in Uduaka Ruling House of Mosogar Kingdom have retracted their claims of owning or founding Mosogar Kingdom.

The family reunited with Mosogar Kingdom during a reconciliation meeting held today 27th October,2024 at the Palace after HRM. Sunday Odogu Okpurhe, Uduaka 1,Ovie of Mosogar Kingdom lifted suspension on Chiefs from Efe Family.

The family was further fined the sum of One hundred and Fifty thousand naira (N150,000) with Kolanuts and drinks which they paid to served as a deterrent against such unfounded claims capable in enslaving other families in Mosogar Kingdom.

Speaking on behalf of the family shortly before the kingdom lifted the ban and prayer of forgiveness was offered,Chief Samuel Iron Edijana,an elder from Efe family, denounced and retracted their wrong claims, noting that there is no particular family that founded Mosogar Kingdom but all families belonging to both Udurhie and Uduaka Ruling Houses are the original founders and owners of the kingdom.

Chief Samson Ojabugbe,a member of Efe family,also maintained that it was totally wrong and misleading for a single family to lay claim of ownership over Mosogar Kingdom since the kingdom was founded by combination of families from both Ruling Houses.

Chief Iboyi Ejounache who is also a member of the Efe Family pleaded for forgiveness,while denouncing the family earlier claims through the interview.

Chiefs from Mosogar Kingdom who spoke during the reconciliation meeting are; Chief Daniel Akpeni Edafeghwara,Chief Oghenedoro America,Chief Vincent Okporua,Chief Felix Oboko Omene,Chief Enor Edekpo,Chief Anthony Irevwi and others who pleaded on behalf of Efe Family,while stating that Mosogar Kingdom belongs to all families in Udurhie and Uduaka Ruling Houses and there is no family more superior than the other in the Kingdom.

Ugo of Mosogar Kingdom,Chief Freeborn Nana who chaired the meeting on behalf of our Monarch, warned all those fanning ambers of disunity through unnecessary or unfounded claims to desist as no shenanigans against the kingdom will be sparred.The Ugo of Mosogar Kingdom further offered prayer to Efe family and also reintegrates the Chiefs into their fold.
