DESCOEM RECEIVES NEWLY CONSTITUTED GOVERNING COUNCIL AS EMEYESE LEADS COLLEGE TO MOSOGAR MONARCH.

The Provost,Delta State College of Education Mosogar,Dr. Israel O. Imide and entire management and staff of the College received the newly constituted and sworn-in 6th Governing Council of the College under the Chairmanship of Rt. Hon. Akpodiogaga Sunny Emeyese at the Governing Council Chamber on Wednesday 22nd May,2024.

Chief Emeyese who arrived Mosogar alongside other members of the Governing Council were warmly received and welcome to the College as he resume his official duty as the Chairman of the 6th Governing Council of the College.

Speaking,the Provost of the College,Dr. Israel Imide welcome the 6th Council Chairman and  entire Members expressing strong optimism that the College will witnessed massive infrastructural development and move forward under the watch of the new Chairman due to his past antecedent, passion and love for quality and good education which the institution is known for with his credible track records of service as a former House of Representative Member who represented Ethiope Federal Constituency and have also served in various capacity in government, adding that Management and staff will work in collaboration with him to ensure the institution witnessed tangible development.

In his address,Chief Emeyese appreciated the College for the warm reception.He affirmed that he will work to ensure there is noticeable progress and do everything possible to address the various challenges facing the institution at the moment with the cooperation of every stakeholders of the College.

Shortly after the welcome ceremony,the Governing Council, Management and some staff of the College moved to paid a courtesy visit to HRM. Sunday Odogu Okpurhe, Uduaka 1,Ovie of Mosogar Kingdom in order to seek his Royal Blessings as they hit the ground running.

Addressing the highly hospitable Monarch in Delta State,the Chairman of the Governing Council,Chief Emeyese highlighted some of the challenges facing the institution,while seeking the collaboration and cooperation of Uduaka 1 and stakeholders of the kingdom to proffer solutions to key issues facing the growth of the College.

The Chairman however expressed his dissatisfaction at the slow pace of development of the institution which was established since 2002, noting that he will do everything possible to appeal to the State Government under the distinguished administration of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori (Executive Governor of Delta State) to look favourably towards building more infrastructures in the College since the last time State project took place in the College was in 2007.

In his remark,the lovely Royal Father of Mosogar Kingdom, Uduaka 1, commended Chief Emeyese,for the visit and his well articulated speech.He further assured him and the entire College that he will give necessary support to ensure every challenges facing the growth and development of the institution are given urgent attention and lasting solutions.

Highlight of the visit was the breaking of kolanut and offering of prayers to the 6th Governing Council, Management,Staff and everyone present by Uduaka the 1st.
