SUV Offer: Senator Nwoko's large appetite for cheap publicity disgusting ~ Oghenesivbe

...Says Oborevwori focused on Advancing Delta beyond 2027, not interested in petty squabbles

Senator Ned Nwoko's claim that he would reject or had rejected SUV and N10 million monthly offer from Delta State Government  clearly revealed his large appetite for cheap media Publicity.

Director General, Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, made the assertion on Sunday, while reacting to Nwoko's claim of rejecting SUV from Delta State government, describing it as repulsive conduct that is unbecoming of a distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Bureau Chief assured that governor Oborevwori will remain focused on Advancing Delta through multifaceted mega projects and socioeconomic development, noting that the frequent negative utterances against the governor by Senator Nwoko was and still part of the strategic moves to redeem his battered public image, occasioned by poor representation at the Red Chamber.

He averred that the gift of SUVs to all elected members of the National Assembly representing various senatorial districts and federal constituencies in the state, is no longer news, pointing out that the state government also extended same to members of the opposition political parties, in line with governor Sheriff Oborevwori's government of inclusiveness as encapsulated in his MORE agenda.

Dr Oghenesivbe disclosed that since after taking over the mantle of state leadership on May 29, 2023, governor Oborevwori had consistently made it known that he was elected to serve all Deltans irrespective of political affiliation, adding that Senator Nwoko's fruitless efforts to malign the enviable reputation of the state governor had crashed, and still crashing Senator Nwoko's popularity rating in Delta North Senatorial District.

He stated that Senator Nwoko's recent statement about rejecting SUV and N10 million monthly offered by the State government was obviously another failed attempt by Senator Nwoko to unduely malign the rising leadership and political profile of governor Oborevwori, assuring that Nwoko lack the political sagacity and moral integrity to succeed in his strong determination to stop the rising leadership and political profile of the governor of Delta State.

He further asserted that Ned Nwoko is yet to showcase his genuine concern for the socioeconomic empowerment of his constituents through any meaningful empowerment programme, adding that governor Oborevwori is not interest in petty squabbles, not with Senator Ned, not anybody.

Oghenesivbe posited that while other Senators across Nigeria are busy empowering their constituents with commercial buses, tricycles, tractors for mechanized farming and other poverty alleviation strategies to cushion the suffering of the people, occasioned by deliberate economic remodelling of the nation by the federal government, Senator Nwoko is busy talking from both sides of his month, sponsoring media propaganda and politics of bitterness in Delta State.

"Senator Ned Nwoko's large appetite for cheap media publicity, and frequent attacks on the enviable reputation of the governor of Delta State, Dr (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori is disgusting, laughable and fruitless.

"One of the focal points of the MORE Agenda is  'Opportunity for all Deltans.'  The state government gifted SUVs to all elected members of the National Assembly of Delta State extraction, including members of the opposition political parties in the state who are  serving as Senators and members of the House of Representatives.

"The state government's gift of SUV to federal lawmakers in the state has nothing to do with electioneering politics or inducement as alleged by Senator Nwoko.

"The unproductive media strategies of the Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District is laughable. It's obviously a negative conduct unbecoming of a Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to say the least.

"Senator Nwoko must be told that good and progressive politics is about networking and bridge building devoid of petty squabbles, and uncontrollable crave for cheap media publicity.

"On a regular basis, Deltans celebrate governor Oborevwori's numerous achievements and national recognitions pioneered by ThisDay Arise Media Group, The New Telegraph Newspaper, Vanguard Newspaper and other leading media organisations in Nigeria.

"It is safe to assert that Senator Nwoko is fast becoming a notorious media propagandist with a large appetite for cheap media publicity, and a persistent naysayer in Delta political landscape.

"Governor Oborevwori's visionary leadership and good governance strides resonates with the good people of Delta State, and among Nigerians. No matter how hard Senator Nwoko may try to unduely and unreasonably attack the enviable reputation of the governor, his unprogressive political enterprises shall continue to crash like a huge log before the axe.

"One thing is sure, Senator Nwoko will not return to the Red Chambers in 2027," Oghenesivbe assured.

...Says Governor's plethora of recognitions portrayed detractors, biased critics in bad light

Delta State under the irrepressible visionary leadership of governor Sheriff Oborevwori stands out conspicuously as the fastest  growing economy, and a leader in modern infrastructural development that has become the pride of the nation.

Director General, Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, made the honest observation on Saturday, in reaction to the National Award of "Best Governor in Infrastructural Development," bestowed on him by one of Nigeria's leading national newspaper, The New Telegraph.

He said governor Oborevwori's numerous achievements in all sectors of the state economy in less than two years in office, has become a major eye-opener in governance, and public service, noting that Delta State is now generally referred to as the "pride of Nigeria" and a reference point in mega and durable roads infrastructure development, and socioeconomic remodelling.

Dr Fred Oghenesivbe, congratulated governor Oborevwori, describing him as a pragmatic leader, who over the years, demonstrated inestimable competence, capacity and foresight, adding that the three gigantic Flyovers, the rapid dualization of Ughelli-Asaba highway, and the recent N275billiin allocated to infrastructural projects in the 2025 budget attest to the unrepentant determination of governor Oborevwori to Advancing Delta beyond 2027.

The Bureau Chief assured that governor Oborevwori will continue to support small businesses, invest heavily in the education, health, agriculture, transportation, clean energy and other sectors of the state economy, adding that the several national Awards bestowed on the governor of Delta State, had consistently portrayed his detractors and all biased critics in bad light.

He appealed to all well meaning Deltans, irrespective of political affiliation to join hands with governor Oborevwori in the ongoing fullscale implementation of his MORE agenda, assuring that come 2027, not all that the governor will be re-elected overwhelmingly, but that all the State and National Assembly seats shall be won and reclaimed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

"Delta is a shinning light, and the pride of the nation as can be seen from the numerous national Awards bestowed on our pragmatic leader and governor, Dr (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, for good governance covering all sectors of the state economy.

"Delta is obviously number one in mega infrastructure development, prudent management of state resources without borrowing to fund projects, best in sports development, moving ahead in clean energy, enhancing peace and security, and many more.

"Congratulations to our governor for emerging as the Best Governor in Nigeria, in Infrastructural development bestowed on him by The New Telegraph Newspaper. We are filled with joy, and gratitude to God Almighty.

"I strongly appeal to all well-meaning Deltans irrespective of political affiliation to join efforts with governor Oborevwori to Advance Delta beyond 2027. Together, we can build the Delta of our dreams. The governor is on top of it, and it's only fair that we work together as partners in progress.

"These national Awards attest to the visionary leadership and the great foresight of governor Oborevwori.

"The governor's detractors should have a rethink, abstain from unwarranted media propaganda and biased criticisms, because these Awards portrayed them in bad light," Oghenesivbe added.

Drug Free Delta: DTSG, NDLEA commences awareness campaign to Secondary Schools in Delta

......Ebu Grammar School, Ella Mixed Secondary School had their turn on Tuesday

By Omonigho Okotie

In a concerted effort to safeguard Delta State's youth, the Delta State Government through the  State Orientation and Communications Bureau, under the leadership of Director-General Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, partnered with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to bring a crucial message of awareness to the students of Ebu and Illah Grammar Schools.

This initiative aligns directly with His Excellency, Dr. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE agenda, which prioritizes enhanced peace and security throughout the state.

Dr. Oghenesivbe, while addressing the students, conveyed Governor Oborevwori's deep concern regarding the alarming rise of substance abuse in Nigeria.

He emphasized that drug involvement often serves as a gateway to criminal activity, effectively robbing young people of their potential.

"His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, has sent us here today because he is deeply troubled by the devastating impact of drug abuse on our youth.

"Drugs are destiny killers. They can prevent you from achieving the bright futures that God, the Governor, and your parents envision for you," he said.

To drive home his message, Dr. Oghenesivbe challenged the students to envision their future aspirations. "How many of you aspire to be lawyers, doctors, engineers, or politicians?" he asked. "I can assure you that none of these dreams can be realized if you fall victim to drug abuse."

The State Bureau of Orientation DG, further engaged the students by testing their knowledge of current affairs related to Delta State, rewarding those who demonstrated a strong understanding of their community.

The NDLEA representative followed this by delivering an impactful session on the perils of drug abuse, outlining the various consequences, teaching them how to identify common illicit drugs, and stressing the importance of avoiding social situations that could lead to drug experimentation.

The staff and principal of Ebu Grammar School warmly welcomed the sensitization team, expressing their gratitude for this proactive initiative. They pledged to reinforce the anti-drug message by strengthening the school’s newly established "War Against Drug Abuse" WADA Club, empowering students to become advocates for a drug-free environment.

One student’s exceptional response earned her a special cash gift from the Director-General, highlighting the importance of staying informed and engaged. The principal and staff echoed the appreciation of their counterparts at Ebu Grammar School, recognizing the timeliness and relevance of the campaign.

Looking ahead, the "Drug Free Delta" campaign team will visit schools in Issele-Uku, Agbor and environ on Wednesday.

Battle for Political Survival: Ned Nwoko Sue Ex-senator,Peter Nwaoboshi over alleged defamation, cyberstalking, threats to life.

Another round of disagreement has started between Senator Peter Nwaoboshi and Senator Ned Nwoko.

While Nwaoboshi is a former Senator who represented Delta North, Nwoko is the incumbent Senator representing the district.

This time, the issue involves allegations of defamation, cyberstalking, and threats to life, with the contest for the senatorial seat in 2027 also potentially in play.

The Inspector General of Police, IGP, has filed a three-count charge against Nwaoboshi in the Federal High Court, Abuja, over allegations of defamation, cyberstalking, and threats to Nwoko’s life.

Nwaoboshi is accused of violating the Cybercrimes Act 2015 by spreading harmful and false statements that reached a wide audience, including in major Nigerian cities.

The case, registered under Charge No. FHC/ABJ/02/21/2025, names the IGP as the complainant and Senator Nwaoboshi as the defendant.

The charges, which centre on statements Nwaoboshi allegedly made on July 22, 2023, claim that he accused Nwoko of bribing judges with $1.5 million and attempting to manipulate judicial appointments.

The IGP argued that these statements, disseminated across various social and mainstream media platforms, were false and intended to incite a breakdown of law and order, threatening Nwoko’s life and reputation.

The charges include making false statements at a press briefing following his release from prison, during an interview on an online TV programme, and inciting further hostility and threats to Senator Nwoko’s safety.

The prosecution stated that Nwaoboshi knew, or had reason to believe, that the statements made with intent to cause enmity, a breakdown of law and order, and threats to Senator Nwoko’s life and reputation were false, constituting an offence under Section 24(1)(b) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015, as amended.

Under the Cybercrimes Act, the offences Nwaoboshi is accused of carry serious penalties, including possible imprisonment and fines.

Ibori's Defection: Unwarranted media attacks on Amori won't stop replacement ~ Ethiope Fed Leaders

.......To inaugurate group on February 7, vow to win House of Rep Seat in 2027

As the defection of the former member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, continues to attract media fanfare, the leaders of Ethiope Federal Constituency PDP Forum, rose from a meeting on Thursday, insisting that unwarranted media attacks on Chief (Senator) Ighoyota Amori won't stop Ibori's replacement at the Federal House of Representatives.

The group noted that instead of addressing constitutional issues raised in connection with Erhiatake's unlawful and morally defective defection, some misinformed persons decided to personalized the issue, making it look as if Chief Amori has scores to settle with Hon Erhiatake.

The leaders pointed out that the only interest of PDP, party faithfuls and supporters in Ethiope Federal Constituency led by Senator Amori, is to use lawful means to restore PDP mandate through by-election to replace Hon Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu at the green chamber.

Senator Amori, Rt Hon Arthur Akpowowo, Prof Nyerhovwo Tonukari, Hon Etagherure Ejiro Terry, Sunday Onoriode and other leaders of the Forum, who were present at the meeting held at Chief Amori's Asaba residence, insisted that Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu ceases to be a seating federal lawmaker by virtue of a Court Affidavit she deposed to, unseating herself upon defection to another political party.

The meeting resolved that neither Chief Amori nor any leader of Ethiope Federal Constituency PDP Forum would resort to insults, senseless abuses and media attacks in the course of restoring PDP's mandate through Courts of competent jurisdictions, assuring that the state governor and leader of PDP in Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, shall continue to spread socioeconomic and infrastructure development across the three senatorial districts.

The Forum assured that PDP shall effortlessly win the governorship, State and National Assembly elections, and that includes Ethiope Federal Constituency in 2027, pointing out that the handful of political comedians supporting Hon Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu do not have the electoral value to win their units.

Ethiope Federal Constituency PDP leaders also resolved at the meeting to inaugurate the group on the 7th day of February, to signify a dawn of a new era in the political landscape of the constituency and beyond, and in full scale mass mobilization to upscale PDP political supremacy.

In the same vein, the Publicity Secretary of the Forum and Director General, Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, said member of the Forum has no personal scores to settle with Hon Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, but that the needful must be done as contained in Section 68(1)(g) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended, and further validated by the Affidavit deposed to by Erhiatake prior to 2023 general elections, now binding with vast legal consequences.

"We won't join issues with political comedians and jesters attacking our Forum's national leader, Senator Ighoyota Amori. Our communication policy is to clearly state facts in issue, devoid of insults, abuses and petty squabbles.

"Hon Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu had long distanced herself from PDP since the day she collected her Certificate of Return in 2023. She's trying to be smart, but we verily believe that PDP mandate shall be restored through by-election in the near future.

"She has been politically naive and docile from the day she was sworn-in as a federal lawmaker. Hon Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu bluntly refused to attend all constituency and state party meetings of PDP, and did not at any material time honoured invitations for Party meetings, functions and special events at the LGA and State levels.

"Erhiatake's excuses for defection goes to no issue; they are flimsy, laughable, inconsequential and repugnant to natural justice, which is why the PDP seat at the House of Representatives is now vacant as encapsulated in Section 68(1)(g) of the CFRN, 1999, as amended.

"She solemnly agreed to vacate PDP seat at the House of Representatives vide a valid and potent Court Affidavit she deposed to, unseating herself automatically from the very minute she defected to APC Delta," Oghenesivbe added.

Amori's appointment well-deserved ~ Bureau Chief.

Director General, Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that the appointment of Senator Dr Ighoyota Amori, as Chief Adviser to Delta State Governor, is well deserved, a round peg in a round hole.

Oghenesivbe assertion was contained in a congratulatory message to Senator Amori and made available to newsmen on Thursday, saying that governor Sheriff Oborevwori made a perfect choice.

He assured that Senator Amori shall bring to bear his wealth of experience as a political strategist and founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He thanked governor Oborevwori for the juicy appointment, and for his visionary leadership, pointing out that the MORE Agenda implementation is already advancing Delta beyond human comprehension, pointing to show that his reelection shall be effortless come 2027.

"I congratulate my political leader and mentor, Senator Chief Ighoyota Amori on his well deserved appointment as Chief Adviser to His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, JP.

"Your integrity and pedigree in the political landscape of Nigeria, and in Delta State, earned you this superlative appointment, and we celebrate you always.

"Am proud to have you as a leader and mentor. Your light will continue to shine in Jesus precious name, Amen," Oghenesivbe prayed.

SOLOMON ARENYEKA: GOV OBOREVWORI REMAINS IN PDP!

The attention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Delta state chapter has been drawn to mischievous, sinister and baseless speculations especially in the Social Media that the Governor of Delta State and our political leader, His Excellency, Rt.Hon.Sheriff Oborevwori has perfected plans to decamp to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The State leadership of the PDP viewed such unfounded reports as the handiwork of jobless political hirelings and their ignoble sponsors as failed agents of destabilization and treachery.

We particularly state in clear terms that the faceless group of individuals  spreading the rumours and parading themselves as concerned leaders of the PDP are impostors and are not  members of our great Party.

We strongly condemn in all vehemence the vile and wicked propaganda of the depraved perpetrators, particularly the key peddler, a notorious serial blackmailer and dishonest scoundrel who would live in infamy for concocting   lies as a means of survival.

The state leadership of the PDP urges members of the public to disregard  the dubious speculation and also wishes to reassure all that nothing can distract the Governor in keeping faith with the delivery of good governance through his laudable M.O.R.E agenda as exemplified by massive provision of social infrastructure and human capital development across the state.

Long live PDP

Long live Delta State

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Warri refinery operations 'll boost employment, wealth creation in Delta ~ Bureau Chief.

....Says rumoured defection plans by Gov Oborevwori laughable, handiwork of professional rumour mongers

The commencement of near eighty percent production capacity at the Warri refinery and Petrochemical Company is one of the significant milestones in the ongoing revamping of federal and state industries in Nigeria, and in Delta State.

Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Director General of Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications made the assertion on Sunday during a television program, saying that the production of diesel, kerosene and petrol would significantly boost wealth creation and provide thousands of jobs for both skilled and unskilled workers across board.

He noted that the dogged and resilient infrastructural development and socioeconomic remodelling efforts of the state governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, is yielding monumental results through political bridge building and strategic partnership with the federal government on economic development and wealth creation for the good people of Delta State, and Nigerians in general.

The Bureau Chief described the rumoured foreseeable defection plan of governor Oborevwori as laughable, unthinkable, mischievous and the handiwork of professional rumour mongers, assuring that the governor shall continue to work round the clock, and make friends across board to enhance sustainable growth in all sectors of the state economy.

He assured Deltans that the smooth implementation of the MORE Agenda would continue to attract inflow of local and foreign investments to the state, as well as robust partnership with President Tinubu and the federal government, in line with the strategic economic growth policies and programmes encapsulated in governor Oborevwori's MORE agenda, currently under fullscale implementation across the three senatorial districts.

Dr Oghenesivbe advised those advocating for payment of certain monthly stipends to youths and unemployed young graduates by the management of Warri Refinery, to have a rethink and stop such unprogressive antics, noting that there is no country in the world where refineries pay unemployed young graduates and secondary school leavers monthly stipends, but instead provide jobs through multifaceted vacant positions.

He assured that the resumption of incremental production of petrol, diesel and kerosene at the Warri refinery would certainly create jobs and wealth for eligible and qualified young school leavers and graduates, urging Deltan youths to rejoice and support governor Oborevwori, because of the substantial economic boom that has been witnessed in the state since May 29, 2023, and counting.

"The commencement of near 80% production capacity at the Warri Refinery is a welcome development, and the good people of Delta State are very happy with the efforts of the state governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and the federal government under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

"The production of diesel, kerosene and petrol at the Warri Refinery would significantly boost wealth and job creation in the state, as more people shall be employed, both skilled and unskilled workers. This is good for the advancement of Delta State economy.

"Governor Oborevwori is not going to rest on his oars. His political bridge building and strategic partnership with the federal government is yielding monumental results for the state and people.

"Good politics connotes states and federal government working together to bring about economic growth, development and prosperity for Nigerians across subnationals and political entities. It's certainly not a sign of partisan political affiliation or defection plan as some narrow minded naysayers may think. It's about matured engagements and political maturity.

"President Tinubu is the president for Nigeria, irrespective of political affiliations, which is why governor Oborevwori shall continue to partner with Mr President and the federal government to bring about sustainable development as encapsulated in his MORE Agenda.

"Meaningful development can only be achieved through multifaceted collaborative efforts and that's exactly what the governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori is doing, and Deltans are very happy with his visionary and result oriented leadership.

"There are some uninformed persons who are advocating for the payment of monthly stipends to youths and unemployed young graduates in Delta State by the management of Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company. This is distasteful and not in our character as Deltans. It is anti development.

"There is no where in the world where refineries pay youths and unemployed young graduates monthly stipends. It is not done in Port Harcourt, not in Rivers State, and should never happen in Delta State. We want development and nobody should scare away investors from the state. It's our duty as citizens to encourage government positive efforts.

"Warri Refinery will provide jobs and create wealth for our teeming youths, women and unemployed young graduates. That is the practice anywhere in the world. It is unacceptable for anybody to discourage or want to truncate investment inflow in the state through unholy demand that is alien to economic development.

"I urge our youths to continue to support governor Oborevwori as he continues to doggedly and proactively intensify efforts towards advancing Delta beyond 2027. We must as a people appreciate his selfless service. It's unprecedented.

"Delta is in good standing in all sectors of the state economy, and we have good stories to tell. Our youths are vibrant and supportive, and the governor is proud of them always.

"Governor Oborevwori shall continue to partner with the federal government, local and foreign investors to revive all moribund industries in the state to provide jobs and create wealth for our teeming youths and women, skilled and unskilled workers," Oghenesivbe assured.
